Questions for the Entertainment Industry:
Are there events relate to your documents that need follow up in the
future? Are there "due" dates? Retention
dates? Is delegation and task management
a big part of the job?
Do you use your calendar to track these events? Do you use spread sheets?
Do you notify others via email about their responsibilities? Are
they inside/outside the organization or both?
Are related documents attached?
How is the follow-up handled now?
Is escalation ever needed?
Can management see who needs to do what in the future, i.e. staff
workload and also drill down to the related documents? How are your documents managed now?
Are deadlines managed centrally or individually,
and how many people manage deadlines? What departments? What are the most critical areas for managing
deadlines? Where is the most risk if
dates are missed?
Where do you need reports to prove things where handled properly?
How are reports handled now? Is there a
compliance process? Are there Audits?
How do you transfer responsibilities if someone leaves or is out on
vacation, etc?
How are obligations managed for contracts, option dates,
licenses, NDA’s, talent agreements, media-press
agreements or permits?
How is project management for projects in development and
production handled now?
How is work delegated to internal staff, sub-contractors,
partners, vendors or clients? Are there correspondence management needs?
Is compliance, risk management, contract management part of your
responsibility? If not, who handles that in your organization?
How are copyright, trademark management and I.P Registration handled
now?
How is compliance for SEC, FCC and filing dates handled?
Do you interact with others to accomplish these tasks? If so, what
departments?
Are there tasks/deadlines in the HR department, i.e., reviews, training,
benefits, safety, etc, that are manually managed now?
