Questions for the Energy Industry:
Are there events relate to your documents that need follow up in the
future? Are there "due" dates? Retention dates? Is delegation and task management a big part
of the job? Do you use your calendar,
spread sheets to track these events?
Do you notify others via email about their responsibilities? Are
they inside/outside the organization or both? Are related documents
attached? How is follow-up handled
now? Is escalation ever needed?
Can management see who needs to do what in the future, i.e. staff

and how many people manage deadlines? What departments? What are the most critical areas for managing

Where do you need reports to prove things where handled properly?
How are reports handled now? Is there a
compliance process? Are there Audits?
How do you transfer responsibilities if someone leaves or is out on
vacation, etc?
How are NERC/FERC task management & reports handle now?
Are you currently scheduled for an audit?
How is Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S)
compliance managed? How are permits
managed?
Is compliance, risk management, contract management part of your
responsibility? If not, who handles that in your organization? Do you have a legal department? How are documents, matters managed between
you and your outside council?
How are deadlines and tasks managed for easements?
How is project management for projects in development and
production handled now? Do you
interact with other departments to accomplish these tasks? What
departments?
Are there correspondence management needs in the executive
offices?
Are there tasks / deadlines in the HR department, i.e., reviews,
training, benefits, etc, that are manually managed now?
