Are there events relate to your documents that need follow up in the
future? Are there "due" dates? Retention dates? Is delegation and task management a big part
of the job? Do you use your calendar,
spread sheets to track these events?
Do you notify others via email about their responsibilities? Are
they inside/outside the organization or both? Are related documents
attached? How is follow-up handled now? Is escalation ever needed?
Can management see who needs to do what in the future, i.e. staff

Is compliance, risk management, contract management part of your
responsibility? If not, who handles that in your organization? What departments do you interact with the
most?
How is Matter Management currently handled now? Who is responsible for keeping up to date on
the status of legal projects?
How are documents or matters managed between you and your outside
council? How is the corresponding email
handled?
Do you keep a Docket for Litigation now?
How do you manage who said what and when related to litigation and
between you, outside council and others?
Do you manage Patent, Trademark, and Copyrights?
Are there Property Management responsibilities?
Are there correspondence management needs?
Are there tasks/deadlines in the HR department, i.e., employment
agreements, reviews, training, benefits, safety, etc, that are manually managed
now?
